Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur, conducted a two-day pastoral visit to St.Sebastian Church, Aranmula from Saturday, 21 March 2026 to Sunday, 22 March 2026.
After the canonical reception, the faithful of St.Sebastian Church, Aranmula, attended Vespers, the Eucharistic celebration, and other ceremonies of the pastoral visit.
As part of the visit, he met with the Parish Pastoral Council members, the BEC (Basic Ecclesial Community) leaders, and the catechism teachers of the parish.
The Parish Council Secretary, and the office bearers of Catechism, KCYM, and the BEC leaders presented brief reports on the activities of the various parish ministries.
The Bishop visited the cemetery and prayed for the departed souls.
He also visited a BEC unit along with Rev. Fr. Francis P .
Prior to the pastoral visit, Msgr. Sebastian Vaz (Vicar General) and Very Rev.Dr.Sajan Thankachan verified the church documents and registers.
Very Rev. Dr. Sajan Thankachan, Judicial Vicar and Additional Secretary to the Bishop, conducted a class for the newly elected BEC members.
The Bishop had an interactive session with the members of the parish.
The Bishop also felicitated Mrs. Rosamma, the newly elected member of the Panchayath.
Rev. Fr. Francis P. (Parish Priest) Rev.Sr.Jacintha CCR and the Pastoral Council members, worked diligently to organize the pastoral visit.
