Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur, conducted a two-day Pastoral Visit to St. Michael’s Church, Kottarakara , from Saturday, 7th June to 8th June Sunday.
As part of the visit, he met both the Parish Pastoral Council members and the BEC (Basic Ecclesial Community) leaders Catechism Teachers of the parish. All BEC leaders, pious associations, and lay organizations of the parish presented brief reports about the activities of the various parish ministries. He also participated in a BEC group prayer meeting in one of the BEC units.
The Bishop visited cemetery Blessed Vaults and prayed for the departed souls. The Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 50 members of the Parish. The Bishop also honored the students who excelled in various board examinations. Prior to the pastoral visit, Msgr. Sebastian Vaz (Vicar General), Very Rev. Fr. Roy B. Simon (Chancellor), and Fr. Ajeesh Cletus (Financial Administrator) verified the church documents, registers, and accounts.
Rev. Fr.Vineeth Benedict ,Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Justin Zechariah, Secretary to the Bishop, worked diligently to organize the pastoral visit.
