Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur, conducted two days pastoral visit to St. George Church, Maruthimoodu, on 6th , Saturday,September 2025 to 7th Sunday, September 2025. The parishioners received the Bishop with a canonical reception, after which he conducted Vespers and Benediction.
Parishioners actively participated in the liturgical ceremonies held during the pastoral visit. During his visit, the Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation and took the opportunity to meet with the Parish Pastoral Council Members, leaders of the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), and the Catechism teachers.
The Parish Council Secretary and BEC leaders presented brief reports on the activities of the various parish ministries. The Bishop visited the elderly and the sick of the parish. The Bishop also participated in the Little Flower BEC Prayer and gathering. He visited the parish cemetery and offered prayers for the departed souls. Rev. Fr. Sam Shine, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Daniel Nelson Spiritual Father of St. Jude Shrine, Maruthimoodu; Rev. Fr. Bibin Sebastian, Assistant Parish Priest; and Rev. Fr. Justin Zechariah, Secretary to the Bishop, along with the Sisters of the CTC Convent, Maruthimoodu, and members of the Parish Pastoral Council, worked diligently to organize the pastoral visit.
