A meeting of Rev. Sisters who teaches in the various schools under corporate management was convened on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Punalur Bishop House.
The gathering commenced with a prayer, setting a respectful tone for the discussions that followed.
The meeting was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvester Ponnumuthan, Bishop of the Punalur Diocese and Patron of the Corporate Management.
Corporate Manager Fr. Christy Joseph warmly welcomed all participants, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and support.
Following this, the Bishop engaged in meaningful dialogue with the Sisters, addressing several significant topics relevant to their roles as teachers.
1) The Second Vatican Council’s Document on Education (Gravissimum Educationis):

He emphasized the importance of providing respectful and nurturing education, highlighting the need for educators to instill values of dignity and respect in their students.
2)The Vatican Council’s Teaching on Consecrated Life (Perfectae Caritatis):
The Bishop discussed the ideals of perfect love and the commitment required for those in consecrated life, encouraging the Sisters to reflect on their vocation.
3) Pope Francis’ New Encyclical (DILEXIT NOS, He Loved Us):
He highlighted the themes of love and compassion found in this encyclical, relating it to the Sisters’ mission in education and their role in the community.
4) The National Education Policy:
The discussion included an overview of the National Education Policy, focusing on its implications for Catholic education and the responsibilities of educators in implementing its principles.
5) The Importance of Artificial Intelligence in Today’s World:
The Bishop addressed the growing significance of artificial intelligence, urging the Sisters to consider how it can be integrated into educational practices to enhance learning experiences.
6) The Need for Sisters to Have Passion for Christ and Passion for Humanity:
He concluded with a call for the Sisters to embody a passion for Jesus and a passion for humanity, inspiring their students through both faith and service to others.
At the end of the meeting, Sr. Jessy Thomas, a teacher at Saint Goretti High School, expressed her gratitude to everyone for their participation and contributions to the discussions.
The meeting concluded with a prayer by Rev.Sr.Pameela Mary reaffirming the Sisters’ commitment to their mission in education and community service.
