A Presbyterium of the Clergy and a Requiem Mass for the departed souls of priests who served in the diocese were graciously held on November 12, 2024, at St. Xavier’s Animation Center in Pathanapuram. The Holy Mass was solemnly presided over by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, with a reflective homily delivered by Rev. Fr. Jose Varghese. In a beautiful display of unity and reverence, all the priests of the diocese concelebrated the Mass, offering prayers for the eternal repose of their departed brothers’ souls. The occasion served as a profound moment of remembrance and spiritual solidarity, as the clergy gathered to honor the legacy of those who served the diocese with unwavering faith and dedication.

After the Holy Mass significant discussions were held regarding the BEC guidelines and the revised rules of various councils. The aim of these discussions was to enhance the efficiency of the parish pastoral ministry in the Punalur Diocese. The meeting began with heartfelt greetings from Rt.Rev.Dr.Selvester Ponnamuthan, Bishop of Punalur who extended his blessings to all present. Rev. Dr. Roy B. Simson, Chancellor of the Diocese, along with Rev. Fr.Justin Zcharia , Secretary to Bishop presented the newly updated guidelines and rules. Their insights and thoughtful explanations set the tone for the meeting, helping all present understand the changes and their impact on parish life. The session was expertly moderated by Rev. Dr. Christy Joseph, whose guidance ensured a smooth flow of discussions and reflections on the proposed updates.

Priests from various parishes within the diocese were in attendance, engaging attentively with the material, offering valuable feedback, and committing themselves to implementing these guidelines in a spirit of service and pastoral care. It was a day marked by a shared sense of purpose, unity, and a collective commitment to furthering the mission of the Church in Punalur Diocese.
