A seminar on the topic “Announce Christ in Today’s Confusing and Noisy Society” was conducted on 14 April 2026 at St. Xavier’s Animation Centre, Pathanapuram. The session was led by Arch Bishop Thomas Menamparampil, a renowned Church leader, writer, and peace builder. The seminar began with a prayer song by the Regent Brothers, setting a reflective tone for the gathering.
The participants were welcomed by Msgr.Sebastian Vaz, Vicar General of the Diocese. Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan delivered the introductory address. In his speech, he warmly introduced Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil, describing him as a man of greatness. Quoting William Shakespeare, he said, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.”

He highlighted the Archbishop as an orator, leader, writer, and a symbol of simplicity and peace, also noting his nomination for the Nobel Prize. Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil then delivered the keynote session on the theme, emphasizing the importance of proclaiming Christ amid the distractions and complexities of modern society. His talk inspired deep reflection among the participants.
The seminar included two sessions, featuring active participation and an engaging open forum. During the event, Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan honored the Archbishop on behalf of the Diocese. He also felicitated Rev.Fr.Romance Antony from the Diocese of Quilon.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Rev.Dr.Roy B. Simson, Chancellor who expressed sincere gratitude to Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil for his valuable session and to Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan for organizing the seminar. He also thanked all those who contributed to the success of the event and the participants for their active involvement. The seminar concluded with the Angelus prayer followed by lunch.
