Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan
The Urukunnu Kurishumala Pilgrimage and Youth Cross Journey, organized as part of the Jubilee Year celebrations under the leadership of the KCYM, (Diocese of Punalur) commenced from the Urukunnu Holy Cross Church and concluded at the Urukunnu Kurishumala.
The pilgrimage was graced by the presence of His Excellency, Rt.Rev.Dr.Selvister Ponnumuthan ,Bishop of Punalur who delivered introductory speech. Rt.Rev.Dr. Oommen George, Bishop of the CSI Church, delivered the keynote address. Priests, Religious Brothers, Sisters ,Youth, and lay faithful from various parishes across the districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha in the Diocese of Punalur actively participated in this spiritual journey. Lay faithful from other denominations also participated in the pilgrimage and Youth Cross Journey. The pilgrimage was coordinated under the guidance of KCYM Punalur Diocesan Director Rev. Fr. Bibin Sebastian, and Urukunnu Holy Cross Church ,Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stephen Das, along with Urukunnu Parish Council members and the KCYM Diocesan Committee.
Key contributors to the event included: Arun Thomas, President, KCYM Christina Emmanuel, Vice President Diocesan Youth Committee members: Shijo John, Jibin, Albin Jose, and CB David, who led the Youth Cross Journey with dedication and spirit. The event served as a powerful testimony of faith, unity, and the enduring commitment of the youth and faithful in the Diocese of Punalur.
