The Jesus Youth Movement of the Punalur Diocese hosted a heartwarming gathering and seminar on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. John’s L.P.S. in Punalur, Navathi Hall. The event brought together enthusiastic young members of the movement from various parishes within the Punalur Forane and from parishes of Pathanapuram and Koodal, marking a day of reflection, fellowship, and growth. The gathering began with a warm welcome by Sister Virgin Victor, FMNCK, Animator of the Punalur Diocesan Jesus Youth movement. Her heartfelt words set the tone for the day, creating an atmosphere of openness and spiritual readiness. The event was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvester Ponnumuthan, the Bishop of Punalur, who presided over the gathering. His grace and wisdom provided a spiritual foundation for the day’s proceedings, inspiring all attendees to deepen their commitment to faith and service.
Rev. Fr. Bibin Sebastian, Director of KCYM, offered his greetings to the assembly, further enriching the event with his presence and encouraging words for the youth. His message reminded everyone of the importance of unity, purpose, and the mission of the Church in the lives of young people. The seminar sessions were led by Sri .Vishnu Peter and Smt. Maya, both esteemed Jesus Youth Resource Persons, whose engaging and insightful presentations captivated the participants. They guided the young people through meaningful reflections, fostering spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of their roles as members of the Church and society. The gathering concluded with the Eucharistic adoration at St. Mary’s Catherdal. The benediction was done by His Excelency, Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan.
The event was expertly coordinated by Rev. Fr. Vipin Baby, the Coordinator of the Jesus Youth movement, Diocese of Punalur. His dedicated efforts ensured the smooth running of the day, allowing for meaningful interactions and fruitful discussions among the participants. The presence of Rev. Fr. Colin Napoleon, Rev. Fr. Thomas Palliparampil, the Sisters, Unit Animators, and Jesus Youth members from various parishes of the Punalur Forane, including Pathanapuram and Koodal, added to the warmth and collective spirit of the gathering.
