Rt. Rev. Dr. Selvister Ponnumuthan, Bishop of Punalur, conducted a two-day pastoral visit to Sacred Heart Church, Kattanam, from Saturday, 23rd August 2025, to Sunday, 24th August 2025. Parishioners attended the Eucharistic celebrations and other ceremonies held during the pastoral visit.
As part of the visit, the Bishop met with members of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) leaders, and the Catechism teachers of the parish. The Parish Council Secretary and BEC leaders presented brief reports on the activities of the various parish ministries. The Bishop also visited the elderly and the sick of the parish. He visited the parish cemetery and prayed for the departed souls.
Prior to the pastoral visit, Msgr. Sebastian Vaz (Vicar General) and Rev. Fr. Ajeesh Cletus (Financial Administrator) verified the church documents, registers, and accounts.
Rev. Fr. Binoy, Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr. Justin Zechariah, Secretary to the Bishop, along with the Sisters of the SRA Convent, Charumoodu, and members of the Parish Pastoral Council, worked diligently to organize the pastoral visit.
